Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28, 1967. Her family is the fourth Roberts family that lived in Atlanta. This started with her grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was farmer. At an early age his father became obsessed with acting. In 1952, while studying at Emory University, he performed on stage in a number of shows in Atlanta. When he was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi, he was inducted into the Air Force in the year 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was also in the production. Eric Anthony was their first born. They got married in the year. The couple divorced in 1957. the Air Force and Walter was enrolled at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. In 1960, the family relocated into Decatur Georgia where Walter began working for Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou began production on a local children's Saturday morning television program known as Bum Bum and His Buddies which they financed their own. They founded an Actors and Writers Workshop in that same year. It was in operation for a period of six years. The couple had another two children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also called Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also know by the same name Julie).
